Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu. Ensure your flight into Kathmandu arrives on this day.
Elevation: 1345m/4412ft.
Activities: After we pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel, you are free to relax and recover from your long journey. If you want to get stuck straight into your adventure you could explore the bustling Kathmandu suburb of Thamel and sample its array of restaurants, bars and shops.
Accommodation: A three star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Take a 45 minute flight to Lukla followed by a trek to Phakding.
Elevation: 2840m/9318ft in Lukla and 2610m/8563ft in Phakding.
Hours of walking: 3.50.
Difficulty rating: Easy.
Terrain: Flat and downhill with well developed paths and stone steps.
Activities: The breathtaking flight between the mountains will be a warm welcome to the first day of your Everest Base Camp adventure. You will enjoy amazing Himalayan views on your approach to Lukla, see some Buddhist shrines and the traditional Sherpa peoplegoing about their daily lives.
Accommodation: Basic teahouse.

Day 3: Visit Namche Bazaar
Elevation: 3440m/11286ft.
Hours of walking: Approximately 6.
Difficulty rating: Moderate to difficult.
Terrain: Stone steps, rocky and dirt tracks that are mostly gradual up hill but with some steep inclines.
Activities: Enjoy spectacular views as you approach Namche Bazaar, see snow capped peaks and the colourful Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar, which is the gateway to the high Himalaya. Crossing some impressive suspension bridges over the river valley will test your nerves. The milky waters of the Dudh Kosi River, some thick rhododendron, magnolia and fir tree forests along with the sight of herds of yaks carrying supplies should calm them.

Day 4: See the world’s highest hotel and Khumjung Village before returning to Namche Bazaar. This is your first acclimatization day.
Elevation: 3962m/12998ft at the Mountain View Hotel and 3790m/12434ft at Khumjung.
Hours of walking: 4.
Difficulty rating: Easy to moderate.
Terrain: Hilly, grassy trails with some steep inclines and flat tracks.
Activities: Catch your first glimpse of Mount Everest along with Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Taboche Peak and Ama Dablam. Visit the Khumjung Edmund Hillary School, Sherpa museum and the shops and markets around Namche Bazaar.
Accommodation: Basic teahouse.

Day 5: Visit Tyangboche.
Elevation: 3860m/12664ft.
Hours of walking: 5.
Difficulty rating: Moderate.
Terrain: A river bank path with some steep inclines and some short and flat descents.
Activities: See Kwangde, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtega, AmaDablam and Mount Everest. The Tyangboche monastery boasts magnificent panoramic views, friendly monks, lamas, ornate wall hangings and a 20 foot statue of Lord Buddha.
Accommodation: Basic teahouse.

Day 6: Visit Dingboche.
Elevation: 4360m/14304ft.
Hours of walking: 5.
Difficulty rating: Moderate.
Terrain: Rocky uphill tracks with some stone steps and a gentle riverbank trail.
Activities: See Lhotse, Island Peak, Ama Dablam, the beautiful location of Dingboche under Ama Dablam and the mountain views from your teahouse. You will also see a Yeti scalp in the Pangboche Gompa, the fast flowing waters of the Imja Khola and sacred mani stone walls.
Accommodation: Basic teahouse.

Day 7: Hike to Nagartsang and back to Dingboche This is another acclimatization day.
Elevation: 5080m/16667ft.
Hours of walking: 4.
Difficulty rating: Moderate to difficult.
Terrain: Rocky and steep inclines.
Activities: Enjoy a remarkable view of Makalu and Lhotse.
Accommodation: Basic teahouse.
Elevation: 4940m/16207ft.
Hours of walking: 5.
Difficulty rating: Moderate to difficult.
Terrain: Some steep inclines and rocky tracks where you will need to scramble for a short time.
Activities: See the Khumbu Icefall and Pumori nestled among other beautiful Himalayan mountains. After you have reached the top of a steep incline you will see the breath taking panoramic views among Buddhist chortens. There is also a memorial sight for the people who sadly lost their lives while attempting to summit Everest and some traditional Sherpa houses.

Day 9: Arrive at Everest Base Camp and GorakShep.
Elevation reached: 5300m/17388ft at Base Camp and 5170m/16962ft at GorakShep.
Hours of walking: 8.
Difficulty rating: Difficult to strenuous.
Terrain: Uneven, rocky, uphill ridge tracks and flat trails.
Activities: There are too many views to mention! You will be surrounded by an icy wonderland. Get your cameras ready because you have reached the base camp of the highest mountain in the world. Your Everest Base Camp trek has reached its climax and you might even see a group of mountaineers preparing an attempt to summit Everest. There will be sunset views from your GorakShep teahouse.
Accommodation: Basic teahouse.

Day 10: See Kala Patthar and Pheriche.
Elevation: 5545m/18192ft at Kala Patthar and 4270m/14009ft at Pheriche.
Hours of walking: 7.
Difficulty rating: Strenuous.
Terrain: A steep, rocky climb to Kala Patthar and a gentle descent over rocky, and some well defined, paths to Pheriche.
Activities: See the mighty Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayas.The most spectacular, panoramic views are visible from the top of Kala Patthar and the sunrise from a height of 5545m in the middle of a mountainous wonderland is simply amazing.
Accommodation: Basic teahouse.

Day 11: Return to Namche Bazaar.
Elevation: 3440m/11286ft.
Hours of Walking: 7.
Difficulty rating: Easy to difficult.
Terrain: Steep descents, stone steps, rocky trails and grassland.
Activities: See the river valley and snow capped peaks in the distance. Check out the local markets, bars and restaurants of this vibrant Sherpa town.
Accommodation: Basic teahouse.
Elevation: 2840m/9318ft.
Hours of walking: 7.
Difficulty rating: Moderate.
Terrain: Walk along the banks of the river, some stone steps and take some descents and last ascents up to Lukla.
Activities: See the glistening river with a mountain backdrop. With your last day of walking in the Khumbu region you can relax knowing that you have completed the Everest Base Camp trek! There are still some thick forests and a variety of birds to see before you take in some final views of the mountains.

Day 13: Flight back to Kathmandu.
Activities: Another breath taking aeroplane ride on a twin-engine otter between the mighty Himalayas.
Accommodation: Three star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 14: Departure from Nepal.
It is time to go home and tell your friends and family about the fun and amazing adventures you had in Nepal and on the Everest Base Camp trek. Or you could extend your trip and have an even more amazing time.
